I just did this and figured many of you probably qualify too. The deadline is coming up soon but check it out…

If you’ve traveled outside of the US between Feb. 1, 1996 and Nov. 8, 2006, you qualify for this claim. It has to do with credit card conversion fees (I think). It’s super easy to file a claim. You can get either $25 or 1% of the estimated spending determined by the number of days you’re abroad and average spending of Americans while traveling. THE DEADLINE IS MAY 30!

Here’s the link:

Thanks- I had not seen that and have spent over four months out of the US during that time. Is $25 the minimum rebate?

There was a thread about this a couple of months ago if you are interested in looking for it.

However, what I wanted to say was that I very carefully documented about 27 weeks of travel, looking to get the maximum amount of money, and I received a check for $19.62.

I was none too impressed.

You might want to consider just taking the automatic $25.

spiralout, you got your refund??? I submitted mine back in December and haven't heard anything. Just read this on the site:

"Refunds will be paid after the Court finally approves the settlement, and approves any award of attorneys' fees, awards to the class representatives, and allocation of the settlement fund among Settlement Damages Class members, and any appeals related to that approval are resolved. It is possible that this could take several months, or, if appeals are filed, several years. You may want to check this website from time to time for updates."

Don't know what to tell you. Got the refund, and it was a lot less than I expected. I got the check about 6 weeks ago.
