Just laughing at the squat toilet thread and thought I would ask: What is your worst toilet experience ever?

Mine was in India - in the Himalayas, thankfully it was pretty cold, and the smell was therefore muted... My friend and I went around to the toilet (squat natch!) and couldn't believe our eyes... there was an outhouse thing with a rickety door, and inside the toilet was piled to overflowing with all sorts of things that didn't bear thinking about and excrement. Naturally we beat a hasty retreat and found a bush to hide behind instead. Am eternally grateful we weren't there in summer!

Toilets are always an interesting experience. This topic has come up quite a bit; a quick search brings up quite a few.

Oh gads - I don't even want to think about it... We were crossing some border in Africa (I've forgotten which one). There was an outhouse (the process of crossing the border was actually quite prolonged, so the outhouse was a fairly busy place), so I headed over there. When I opened the door, my eyes about popped out. It was a standard outhouse like in the US with the hole in the ground and a wooden seat - but the crap was piled so high it was actually coming OUT of the seat!!! I don't know how deep they dug the hole, but the seat was a good 2 - 3 feet off the ground, so that was one massive pile of human waste and whatnot!
