I always take short naps the night before I leave (Put the alarm clock during my last night. ). Keep on doing that when I've arrived on my final destination until I've reached the proper 'bedtime'.

Are there more ways to do it ?

yep!

ambien. Smile

but if you can't get that and you land right in the morning, take a power nap and then stay up until late....you'll fall fast asleep and wake up on the correct clock.

there are probably other threads like this, but I don't let myself sleep til at least 8 or 9 local time at my destination, and then take a sleeping pill to ensure I sleep through the night. Usually the next morning I'm fine.. I do this all the time when I travel to/from Japan and have no experienced significant jetlag yet

(Jetlag is when your body is on your home time and you are a in a new place many time zones away from where you flew from.. like it might be 10PM where you are but your body thinks it's 8AM so you aren't tired)

From Mim's Dictionary of Grey Matter:

Jetlag (v): Tiredness and inability to sleep at correct times due to a change in time-zone.

Ways to avoid : don't travel by plane or if you have to then fly in an easterly direction.

Ways to combat : Drugs

Mim's method : Enjoy the Vampire lifestyle! Devil

I do the same as Life Wanderer. Just force myself to stay up till 8 or 9 pm local time and then crash (no sleeping pill for me though). So far it's worked every time and I've never had an issue with jet lag.

I try to get to my destination in the morning and I make sure I don't sleep all day (even if it means I've been awake for a very long time).

That night I go to bed early and then voilà!!! The next day I'm up and ready for anything!!! Dancer

if i get drunk my sleep is so poor i can't get on a good schedule.. drinking for me helps me fall asleep but not stay asleep.. nor is the sleep good. an OTC sleeping pill ensure I sleep through the night but sometimes I don't need that. It just depends i suppose.

I sleep an hour earlier or later depending in situation, and slowly try to adjust.

I wish I could offer a suggestion, but I'm still fighting some pretty bad jetlag from my flight home to Cali from Europe on Friday. I got a maximum of 15 minutes total sleep on the flight, and to top it off, I've been having these ridiculous dizzy spells - not sure if it's related or not.

Next time I'm popping sleeping pills!!!!
