I am keen on somewhere on the continent. KathrynM is mucking about towards the east, so if can have it central then she will be able to swing it too.

To be honest I would really prefer not Amsterdam myself. I was just there and it really wasnt nearly as much fun as it used to be. I would rather vote for Berlin or Budapest. Of course, as Stu mentioned, I´ll be in the east and would be most able to make it if it was closer to the east.

I'll just check back in sometime in November once you folks have this all figured out. Big Grin

For the record, however, I too would prefer something continental. As the name implies.

I'd still prefer London. If not then I would also quite like Lisbon or Madrid.

But whatever u guys decide.

i was thinking would it be easier to split and have two parties - one in London and then one in central europe - maybe thats the easiest thing so then people have the choice instead of trying to decide on just one city.

thoughts.......

London is too expensive. Madrid is kind of a crap city. I was just in Lisbon last week and it has a good party atmosphere. I'll put a vote for Amsterdam because I can sleep in my own bed after being drunk Smile But I think Berlin would be a good choice because of the number of sweet bars there are hiding around every corner, and it's cheap. And I also have a bed there Smile But I'm also in for somewhere further east... Budapest sounds good. Really good, in fact. Kyiv also, but I think visa issues might be a pain. This is all assuming that I realize my half-wit idea to fly to the States for a couple weeks at the end of Nov and go to the Portland party while there won't work, though.

I'm a bit confused as to what to do....If you all decide on a European City then let me know and I'll see what I can do to come.

If not, then I'll go to the London Party...

Either way I'll hope to spend some time with you Booties towards Christmas Smile

I'd vote for London, but that's because it's a good possibility I'll be living there by then.

If not London, I'd say go with the "off the beaten path" spirit of BNA & pick some city (city, not so off the beatn path that the one pub in the town won't hold more than five people, still should be a "city" of sorts), just one that's not one of the usual suspects like London, Madrid, Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich, etc.

With regards to a continental city, I think those a bit more centrally located are best for everyone interested in coming: Munich. Berlin and Budapest get my interest too. Lisbon and Amsterdam seem bit too geographically on the edge.

(nerokerr: I don't think Skobb was serious about Kyiv. Or he was, but is just being a selfish twit Razz So, we can just ignore him in either case. Wink)

Selfish twit is probably more accurate, but I'm happy to help facilitate should people decide to come here (which doesn't equal put you up. I don't have space.)

If you want off the beaten path you could consider Lviv. I've heard it is nice, but I haven't been yet. I don't know about accomodations though.

You guys just decide and I'll try and make it.

The vote still seems fairly split. I'd like to meet everyone, but perhaps Michey's suggestion is the most realistic solution.

yes, i caught the insincerity of the suggestion Razz . But I
validated it because I would be really interested in going to Kyiv, if not for all the jumping through hoops for a weekend party.

Munich also sounds good, because I've never been there and they have good beer... despite the rest of Germany's negative attitude towards Bavaria for their conservatism. I'm leaning most towards Budapest, though.

And I'm with Kathryn, the Euro party isn't yet big enough to have two different ones.

If it's in Amsterdam (or elsewhere in the Benelux or nearby, like Cologne or Lille), I could almost certainly make it (unless it's the first week of december, as I will most likely be in Burkina Faso then). I could probably make it to London, maybe to Berlin, anywhere further away not very likely though Kiev sure sounds interesting.

How about Antwerp? Whistle

Edited to add: Nerokerr, I don't think there would be any visa issues for Kiev. EU or US citizens at least don't need one. The issue for me would be that it would take days to get there, or I would have to fly (which I prefer to avoid as much as possible)

I'll (try to) be there this year...I'll be living outside London, so my practical vote is there. But I've never been to Budapest, so my impractical vote is there.

Wait. Can I get three votes?
