Things that don't bode well for Kiev: Decent lodging is expensive. (Maybe we can all stay with skobb!) Transport costs to/from are going to be non-trivial for most of us. I'd go if you all want to be there, but...

I'm voting Munich, with Budapest as my second choice.

Jason and I, being fabulous jet setters, had a drink in Berlin last night. We think that we should definitely do a Budapest party. Not just because its cheap and fun but because we can call it the Budapest Bootiefest!

Actually, it was a few drinks. Budapest Bootiefest. It has alliteration AND rhyme. You really can't ask for more from a party name.

I'm in for Budapest. As much as I like London, it's too expensive. Plus I can go to Switzerland afterwards.

So the question is, when do we party in Budapest? December 6th?

I'm probably flying in from Dublin.

Wow, I thought this was a decision for everyone. There were also plenty of votes for places like London and Amsterdam, among others.

I got nothing against Budapest. But shouldn't we actually add up the votes before declaring it the winner? Frown

Sorry... haha. It sounded like there may be 2 parties, one in London and then another in continental europe. I was voting for the city in continental europe as I need to be over that way anyway.

Maybe we need to narrow it down to 3 and put in our votes.

London
Amsterdam
Budapest

I think they were the 3 more popular choices.

Looks like I've all my ducks lined up to visit the West Coast in December and am aiming to be in Portland that weekend. Sorry. Have fun without me.

Can you guys pick somewhere soon - Budapest isn't exactly in the middle of everywhere, so there are only a handful of reasonably priced flights kicking around.

As much as the eco-hippie in me objects to flying from the UK to Ireland to Germany just to guarantee a cheap ticket to Hungary, the stingy b***d in me won't pay more than £100 return for the flights.

Anywhere is good as long as you pick soon Smile

Based on the most popular 3 cities I have counted up the votes thus far.

London = 5

Dreamerhelen
Skyehiker

Amsterdam = 2
Co-op
Seraphim

Budapest = 3
Kathryn
Neokker
Canuck Girl

Don't worry about my vote. To be honest, I doubt I'd make it unless it is in Amsterdam and if Wizzair gets their approval for international flights soon (which requires lots of bribes.) Otherwise, it is too expensive to fly out of Ukraine to pretty much anywhere. Maybe the Russians will offer cheap flights after they invade. That should be before the holiday party...

I don´t like the idea of having two parties, nor do I like the idea of keeping it in everyone´s back yard. I think I´m just gonna pull out.

Well I if there's something in London, I'll pop in there, if not I'll head to Switzerland early.

Meh. I was initially quite keen on this party idea. But if picking one location or another is gonna cause bad feelings within the community then it's not really worth it. So I'm pulling out as well.

Well, obviously most people are going to favor the location easiest for them to get to. That is only understandable.

It sounds like there are plenty of Booties in the London area to do something so you guys should meet up if you want. I'm sure a few outsiders will make it as well.

I wouldn't take it personally if some people decide not to make it. I'd love to meet people, but I also can't justify spending $1,000 to drinking for a weekend with strangers (not matter how nice you guys might be online.Smile

I'm not sure waiting for winter is the wisest choice...
