Anyone have any suggestions? I need a hotel for 2 nights in Kathmandu and any suggestions about getting to the hotel from the airport. I want something in the $20 per night range with hopefully a private bath? Thanks.

I was in Kathmandu in '95. I stayed in a hotel on Freak Street for about $3 per night. It was clean, had 2 beds but I had to use a bathroom down the hall. Really, there's no reason to spend much money in Kathmandu. You can get breakfast for $1

I've been there in April/May 00.
Yes, you spend $20 is too much and you absolutely get a good service. It is around pay $5 that you can get a room with private bath. Remember bargain & bargain again.
