Hey, all:

When you're posting pictures of the BnA parties to Flickr, please remember the following tags so we can find all the pictures:

* For both the London & Portland parties, tag your photos with bootsnall
* For the London party, also tag your photo with bnalondonpartydec2006
* For the Portland party, also tag your photo with bnapdxpartydec2006

If you had a party anywhere else with other Booties recently, you can - by now - probably figure out the pattern. Smile bna_________party____2006 - the first blank is the city, the 2nd is the month. And be sure to let us know about the tags, so we can go see 'em.

And don't forget to join our BootsnAll Flickr Group!!

Hey there fellow party revellers.....

Super great fun, have my photos all ready to post and am now dumbfounded (happens quite often when faced with a computer).

The question of the day is: is it better to diminish the size of the photos before uploading to flikr ?

and if so, how the heck do I do that???

trekker, I use the Flickr Uploadr rather than the web-based version because it saves so much time.

Once you get it downloaded onto your computer, you just right-click on whatever photo you want to post and select the Flickr option. It then asks you which size you want it to be, and once you choose the size and click "for all", you're all set. It just uploads for you easily, and you can categorize your photos for your flickr album too, via the Uploadr. Love that tool. Love Flickr. Smile

If you've got a Flickr Pro account, you don't have to worry about resizing photos first (unless you took thousands!). If you've got a free account, you might run into the monthly limit using the Flickr Uploadr (which, like cayce, I completely love).

If you want to resize photos before uploading them (still using the Uploadr), try Picasa - it's free, and really user-friendly.

When ur uploading photos into Flickr and you don't have a Pro Account...

1) Use the Flickr Uploader Tool
2) On your settings, have the photos uploaded at a smaller resolution instead of the huge files that many of the modern digital cameras have. It'll allow you many more than 6 photos without a Flickr account.

Kjerstan - nice pix!

Yeah - I don't like reaizing photos either. Smile That is what is so excellent about the Flickr Uploader - it does it for your automatically.

Kjerstan - I'm not telling you todo this - just trying to help out other folks who might be trying. Smile Yahooooooooooo.

Ok...I am really lame on Flickr.

Is there a way to look through tagged photos without having to go to a slideshow (since on the slideshow you lose all the captions/titles/etc.). When I try it seems to jump into the photographer's photo stream, and I lose the tagged group...

I think that's been my experience, too, Annie... I'll look thru one person's collection and then go back to the original link (with all the thumbnails) and look thru someone else's. If someone else has a brilliant idea of how to do it better, I'd love to hear it... Smile

I think I sorta kinda figured it out. I was having the same problem. Then I started clicking things. If you have clicked on a thumbnail so that you are viewing a pic in our tagged group on the right hand side there is "So and So's Photostream with the thumbnails to navigate forward and backward, right? This will take you to their personal photos and not just BNA ones.

Buuuuut, on some (not all and I have no idea why) there will be a second bit underneath that says, "This photo also belongs to:" with a second set of thumbnail browser pics that are just for our tagged bunch. I think once it came up light grey with the + tab and I had to open it up to see the thumbnails.

This is as good as it gets with me. I am Flickr-challenged. Let me know if there is something better.

Yeah, I saw that Calli.

This is one of the big flaws I find in Flickr. I won't detail them all here for you, but while I do think it is a cool service, I don't find it to be the end-all-be all; in fact, it is quite frustrating to me.

Okay, end of rant. Awesome pics, folks.

What ever happened to the "Disaster and Stoo Ballroom Dancing While Seated" photo? I like that one, despite the fuzziness...
