Holds PhD in Packing |
Returned to America after years of living overseas and finding it, uh, less loveable than ever. Suburbs, freeways, law and order--the same old same old.
What about Puerto Rico? No passport necessary, no visa, no work/residence permits needed. I can learn Spanish. The rest of the US territories are reefs in the Pacific or some really tiny islands.... anybody have thoughts on mainlanders emmigrating to Puerto Rico? Oh, to be an EU citizen with choices we Americans don't have. |

Knows What a Schengen Visa Is |
I know someone who lives in Puerto Rico and they love it. They also own a kayak company which takes care of work. However, the one thing i have heard is that it is VERY expensive so you would want to check that out to get an idea. For some reason i remember them telling me like the oddest things (think cat litter) was outrageously expensive.
There's always Hawaii, which is incredible. Also I think you can do st. tomas and those spots as well and of course, guam. |

oh yeah, what about Alaska? I've heard it's very different that typical U.S. and also the housing and costs are very cheap.
