Hi All,
First off, I have gotten some excellent info just by reading these, so thanks for that. I'm not sure exactly how this whole community works, but I thought I'd throw this out.
I will be leaving for my first RTW this March, and I'm goin' it alone. I am starting out in Belize, then Brazil (South), Bali, Australia (West?), Miami (for my best friend's Bachelorette Party! Woo-Hoo!), then on to Barcelona, etc.
I'm thinking 2 weeks per destination (give or take), except Eurpoe, which I'll stay however long I can. I would love any tips on daytrips, getting around, what NOT to eat. Or if anyone is going to be in these parts when I am, I would love to meet up for a side-trip or 2.
Any info would be great!
Muchas Gracias!
Alex

That's how it works - throw something out there Smile
Glad to have you here and your trip sounds cool. Don't want to be overly-patriotic but maybe you could knock a week off your Bali trip and add it on to your Australia stay, or maybe even go to New Zealand while you're here. There's so much to see down here that two weeks isn't enough time! Smile

go snorkeling in Belize if you can. Our school offers a class every year that learns about fish then goes to Belize to see them. Everyone I know who has gone raves about the wonderful snorkeling there.

Awesome, thanks everyone!
Borderland, I've heard that a couple times now. It seems Bali is small enough to do in a week? I'll go ahead and take your advice.
Cheers!

I barely saw the south island of New Zealand in two weeks. I highly recommend it as a destination if you are in that corner of the world anyway.

Hey, ill be starting a round the world trip this march as well. it looks as if we'll be heading in separate directions, but maybe our paths will cross at some point. I leave from miami on march 1st and head west (my first stop being tahiti).
then onto cook islands, tahiti, new zealand, australia, thailand, japan, china, then around europe for 5 months until i go back to miami on feb 28th 2006. hit me up by email at some point if you think you'll be in these areas!

Borderland and cheecho make good points.

You won't even begin to scratch the surface of Australia (even Western Australia) in two weeks, and NZ is definitely a great place. If you travel all the way that far South you really should see it.

I love Bali myself, although it's a few years since I've been, but you could probably see most of the things you want to in a week to 10 days.

If you get as far as London, send me a message and maybe we can hook up for a beer.

Have a great trip, but don't try and cram too much in, or you'll end up burned out reslly quickly.
