I just read Moniak's response to another thead when s/he mentioned countries where s/he will never return to -- all none existing now.
That made me think about where I've been that fit that category and I only came up with Yugoslavia and West Germany. How about you? Where have you been that no longer exists? |

Well, I visited Germany for the first time in 1991, Prague in 1995, Russia in 1997, and any of the former Yugoslav countries in 2006 (including a trip to Montenegro 2 weeks after it became independent), so....
Oh wait!! There are at least three of them!! 1) I visited Hong Kong when it was a British colony; when I visited again last year, it is "Hong Kong SAR of China." 2) Same to Macau, I visited it when it was a Portuguese colony, now it is a Chinese SAR. 3)...and yes, one of the former Yugo...I visited Kosovo (Kosova now) in 2007, when it is a "UN Protectorate" and now (just in February) it is an independent country (at least some country recognize that)  =========================== Visit my bilingual website at http://travel.saricie.com/index_en.html Or http://www.MySpace.com/saricie |
