Hi--trying to help my sister, she booked a flight to Athens for four people, on June 27 through Orbitz. Itinerary is PIT-BOS-MUC-ATH. The Boston Munich leg is a US Airways #5606 codeshare on LUFTHANSA -- #425 arriving 0810AM 28 June, they then connect to Lufthansa #3390 departing 0855AM--a 45 minute connection. Questions:
1--is it possible?
2--After passport control, will they have to retrieve bags-go thru customs and recheck them or will bags be checked through?
3--any suggestions?
Thanks for any help

Let the airline know of your connection dilemma. They will help. It'll be tight, but I think you can make it with no trouble. I haven't flown to Munich, but Frankfurt is well organized, and I think that the passport control is organized as well.

That said: Maybe you should try to just carry on. How long are they going?

And...as I like to do this. Welcome to the gang. Fridge is over there, help yourself.

Thanks Piecar--my sis and her husband are going for 2 weeks. The twins are staying an extra weeks. They have family there, on island of Ikaria, I guess they actually own some property there jointly with some cousins. I was worried about the short connection, having waited longer than that in lines in Heathrow and CDG. thanks for the welcome!

I don't think they would have to go through passport control if they don't leave the lufthansa terminal.

As of last summer, everyone goes through PP control in MUC before connecting. Took me about 5-10 minutes IIRC.
