I dream big, but not that big. Smile

And I'm hoping the Where Is This Place site officially starts up before I hit 4,000, much less 12,000+. That is rarefied air that mere mortals should not dream of breathing.

I don't know what will happen to the current thread, but I'm guessing the traffic will move to the new site. There is even a new test photo there now, I just noticed.

And Static, thanks again for creating one of the most enjoyable time-wasters on the internet. Thumbs Up

Like I said, bummer.

I like checking it out in the threads. Moving it elsewhere will pretty much guarantee I'll never look at it.

It's all about me, you knowWink

I agree with you, anniebanannie. The game actually moves much too slowly most of the time to be a stand-alone activity, but as something that you do in between reading and responding to other topics it works great.

I always have multiple tabs or windows open when I'm on the internet, but putting it somewhere else risks taking away much of the casual/lurker traffic. And since some of the lurkers occassionally start playing, we get new regular players from time to time. Sometimes when there are just two of us "playing" there will be a new guess and the views counter advances by 30 or 40.

So it seems that many people just watch the game. I did that for a long while before I joined in too. The photos and guesses are almost always interesting even when I'm not playing. I hope the new site is able to stay visible one way or another.

We'll just continue to do our own, is what I am guessing.

I agree, it's likely that both the new site and the game on the boards will stick around. Can't have too much of a good thing, can we?

rawj is just worried about his post count Wink

sherioushly tho, is this spreading things too thinly? I wonder if it will work without the context of the boards. Time will tell, I guess.

Ralph, I definitely AM worried about my post count. It's creepy that I've passed nearly everyone in such a short time. Is there an all-time leaderboard somewhere? I think NTFT is the only one I see around much who still has me crushed, other than Static, or course. There are probably some other mods up there as well.

As for the new version of the game, I'm wondering what they have in mind to recruit players and keep them playing? I think we all agree this one blends so nicely into just normal boardwatching so if this one carries on I don't know how the other one will work. But they must have a plan and I'll be interested to see what they do with it.
