Like I said above it's a nice list, but I wouldn't worry too much about how many you have or haven't seen.

Ultimately discovering your own collection of great places is far more enjoyable than simply following someone else's list. Chances are your own list will be completely different.

I love the Hillman list!!! I have had a crusty old print out of it on my wall at work for a couple years and I have to admit I get a little thrill returning from a trip and marking a new box.

I got 23. Dang, if I went to Italy, I could knock off another 7!

Someone should make a facebook app for the Hillman wonders...

I've seen exactly half of the 100 wonders.

Smile And one on the 1000-list is right outside my window at work.

Even though it's somewhat biased towards the countries he seems to know best, it's a cool list. Thanks for pointing it out, Tortuga_traveller.

47 of 100 for me. I have no energy to count how many out of 1000.

I've seen 31 of them.

Pyramids
Sahara - crossed the darned thing for weeks!
Grand Canyon
Amazon Rain Forest
Ngorongoro - definitely a must see
Great Barrier Reef
Bora Bora - wonderful but pricy
Nile River
Easter Island
Colosseum
St. Peters Basilica
Egyptian Museum
Valley of Kings
Sistine Chapel
Louvre
Versailles
Metropolitan Museum
Pompeii
Abu Simbel
Mont St Michel
Yellowstone - most wonderful natural spot!
Marrakesh
NY skyline
Eiffel Tower
Niagara Falls
British Museum
Yosemite (over and over again)
Ayers Rock
Banff National Park
Karnak
San Francisco (I live here, is that cheating?)

It's an interesting list, but it seems like it leaves a lot off. I'll have to look at the 1000 list that many of you mentioned. Seems like a lot of stuff on the 100 list is clumped together - so if you hit Rome, Paris, and Egypt you check alot of them off. I didn't see anything on the 100 list from Japan surprisingly.

I tend to like the UN's list to work off of. Plus I'm trying to hit national parks whenever possible - because I like nature.

Looking back deciding to give the bird to England (there trains were all derailing) and Italy (Travel companion hated the place) probably not the best idea missed out on many.

I'm not worried with not having more but still this list is a bit American heavy (When does a Museum classify as a wonder of the world?? and why only American National Parks) and missing some pretty big sites. What about the Sydney Opera House or the engravings on the Burrup (oldest rock art in the world)? or even some of the ones in France that they make such a fuss about? I can think of more things that would classify as wonders than some of the museums they have mentioned. Don't worry before I die I will complete THIS list plus more which I think come into the Wonder category.

1)Great Barrier Reef
2)Bali
3)Easter Island
4)Golden Paviliion
5)Hong Kong Harbor
6)Borobudur
7)Yellowstone Park
8)Niagara Falls
9)Eiffel Tower

I passed on Bora Bora and from my experience Pohnpei with Nan Modal should probably take its place.

Lots I've been close to but never bothered to visit: Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Banff, British Museum, Versailles.

I'll be in Uluru in a few weeks.

I've been to around 12-13 out of 100 and only 58 out of 1000... what's disturbing is that in some cases, I can't remember if I've been there or not!

A lot of them are in the US, I need to get crackin' on my domestic travel!

Well, Golden Pavillion (No. 62) is in Kyoto, Japan.

As to the list - 51 for sure. But some I am not sure if I should count:
- 4) Serengati Migration: been to Serengeti and saw a lot of wildebeest moving around but it is not really a migration season yet.

- 28) I was on a small fulucca on te Nile in Aswan, doesn't that count as a "Nile Cruise"?

If both count, I will say 53 of 100...yeah!

P.S. Why Burj al Arab is there...it is really not that special!

As to the 1000 list, I would say about 300 of them. Because many of Japanese sites I don't know their English names (I only know their Japanese and Chinese names), I'm not sure I've been to how many of them. But since I have just visited Kyoto, I think there are at least 5 of the sites are in Kyoto!
