Awesome...

So if somebody like me wanted to make something like this how do I start.

I already know the song or the singer I should say..it will be a Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan song.

On another note, does anyone know which band plays the opening music to the second video?

Thanks.

I can't remember for sure, but I'm just going to go on a limb and say The Unicorns. Anyway, it's 'the something' whatever it is.

The music in the second video is 'The Pixies'.
They are pretty famous, so i'm surpirised a lot of people havent heard them.
The song as suggested by the opening credits is "Where is my mimd". It plays over the ending credits of Fight Club as well out of interest.

Eventhough it's not in flash format. Awhile ago I was following Mike Pugh's journey. His videos is one of the reason why I am going to lug along a cheap/small amcorder.

Thanks for the mentioning my video Slip (where is your mind?)...

I'm currently on day 100 of my trip and having a couple tough days out here alone, was a nice refresher to click back through it and remember what I was thinking before I left for this trip. Glad you all enjoyed it. And of course props to Erik for starting it all with his "would you" vid, great stuff.

Thanks for the video link, liveNomadic: it'll keep me going through the rainy season here in Tokyo, when everything turns the colour and texture of old rice...

Wow, I too am impressed, Im only on day 30 of my trip but it definately gets lonely sometimes! But watching stuff like that makes me appreciate what Im doing but also heavily inspires me to get out of the cities Im in and go explore the less explored, take the road less traveled.

But Im also wondering, what inspired everyone else in their travel trips? For me one huge inspiration to get out the door was my sister, she did a big trip before me, and her pictures were incredible, now here I am on the other side of the world!

I can't explain fully the emotions I felt while watching each of those videos/slideshows. I am in awe of the power of those pieces. I live out my days in a cubicle (aka a prison with no bars) and I hunger so greatly to get out and explore.

My wife and I plan on doing small burst trips, one monthers, and these vids give me tremendous inspiration to get out there and do it.

Thank you to the souls who made such inspiring work. And for that matter, thanks to all, who (as said above) I have the pleasure of living vicariously through you!!

Cheers!

Wow. Both are so...so...so...uh....wow.

I've had to take a brief break from the hostels and plane flights, as World travel does indeed become a little more complicated as one settles farther into their careers, professional life, home ownership (the current snag--a couple of home depot projects that just couldn't wait), etc....but I've kept it up,traveling farther now than when I was in college.

These videos are truly inspiring....I'll be watching them again...and again....

The boat... well, that was the boat we hitched a ride on from Vanuatu to Australia. First on a different yacht from New Zealand to Vanuatu (13 days). Then on that boat heading towards Australia, after ten days of nothing but the ocean and the sky, just at the moment when Australian land showed up on the horizon, the beautiful rainbow came up... Smile

It's all part of our hitchhiking journey around the world.
