I have a bit of a (good) problem now. I just found out that I have three free roundtrip tickets to anywhere in Europe, northern Africa and western Asia. I know for one of the tickets I will go to Egypt and for another, to Russia, but I’m not sure where to use the last ticket to go to. I don’t want to waste the tickets going to anywhere in Europe because flying in Europe is so cheap. Anyone have any tips for me? Are there any cool north African countries I should check out?

I found Morocco very exotic many years ago and have always wanted to visit Ethiopia (which is expensive to fly to).

As far as north Africa, would a place like Sudan or Ethiopia be included in the northern Africa that you are allowed to have tickets for? If so I would choose one of those two destinations. Morocco is great and you would no doubt enjoy it but it is a cheap destination to get to compared to the horn of Africa.

I would try flying into Addis Ababa or Khartoum if you are up for a big adventure. Ethiopia is not as difficult or dangerous as it might seem but it is definitely a challenge that will leave you fulfilled at the end.
