I'm trying to learn about buying domestic air tickets in Indonesia. 8 years ago, it used to be that you could purchase your air tickets the day before and pay the same price you'd pay if you bought them in advance. When I called Garuda here in the US they said this is no longer the case. Can someone verify this? Also, I'm trying to find out an approx. fare I might pay RT from Denpasar to Padang if I wait until I get there to buy the ticket. Thanks for any info you can provide!

Domestic Airlines in Indonesia are a bit scary considering their safety record but if I had to suggest one I would say Garuda Air (the Indo national carrier) or Lion Air (A budget Indo airline) because they have supposedly gotten there safety back in order.
I like Lion Air the best out of all the Budget Domestic Indo airlines, when I first moved to Indonesia I used to take them all the time. I am not sure about the price being different if you buy the day before - I usually go to a travel agent (found in any mall in Indo) a few days in advance. RT from Denpasar to Padang - It shouldn’t be more than 100 to 150 bucks -------------------------------------- Independent International Travel, Expat, Work & Living Overseas, Flashpacking, Stuff and Blah, Blah, Lifestyle Magazine… www.TheProfessionalAdventurer.com |
