im going to bali for 4 days in 2 weeks from singapore and i really dont know what i should really see and what i can miss out? im a lone female traveller and looking to stay in hostels to meet new people, but i find there are so many conflicting information and i dont know whats true or not. where is the best location to stay in, central, getting around etc? can anyone recommend any good hostels that they have stayed in before? im really into seeing culture and what bali has to offer so id rather concentrate on that rather than beaches and night life.
if anyone can give me any information on how i can get the best from my 4 days i would be really greatful.

Then you must stay in Ubud. Ubud is the culural heart of Bali, where the artist community thrives. It is also far from the maddening crowds of Kuta. I stayed here last June and was so glad I did. You might want to check out Puri Saraswati Bungalows which is where I stayed right on the main road. It's not a hostel, but maybe they can help recommend one for you. They are extremely helpful. Smile For what to do and see I have written up some stuff in my blog if you're interested.

Some of my highlights were:
- the gamelan performance at Cafe Lotus
- seafood dinner at Jimbaran Bay (you'll have to rent a car with driver to get there)
- Ubud Market
- sunset at Pura Luhur UluWatu (the temple on a cliff)
- morning walk on the rice fields
- Ubud royal palace
- the Balinese cooking lessons my friend and I took
