I am planning a trip next christmas to Bali with my husband and 3 children ages will be 17, 9 and 5. I have stayed a legian beach on 2 different occasions, but I was wondering if it might be better to stay in Sanur. Has anyone got any advise for me I would be really appreciate it.

I could well imagine Sanur being too quiet for your children. Why not just book a couple of nights and leave yourselves in the position of being able to move on if it doesn't suit? But, then again, if you'll be spending most of your time tripping around it doesn't really matter so much where you stay as long as there are good amenities for rest days.

Just a little advice.I had a lot of friends in Bali for Christmas and new Year this year and accomodation in Legian and Kuta was hard to come by if not pre booked.
Muti's idea would be good for a not so busy time of the year.
We were in Bali in November and went to Sanur for a daytrip it was very quiet. We were the only two tourists in the market whilst there.

I would also recommend pre-booking over Christmas. And know that hotel costs will be slightly higher during that period as well. Who knows, maybe Sanur won't be so quiet during that time. You can bet Legian will be hopping. I stayed at the Villa Naga Maya for a month and would highly recommend it.
