Thorn Tree Refugee |
Hi all!
I'm planning a trio to Bali on 12 June with my family, will be staying at Bali Garden right at Kuta beach. I'm very concerned about the recent tidal waves that hit Bali. Any info/advise on the situation? Thanks |

First I heard of it --when did this happen? If you're referring to the massive Boxing Day tsunami of 2004, as far as I know, Bali was unaffected.

NO TIDAL WAVES HIT INDONESIA LAST WEEK!
The big waves last week were a large swell coupled with very high (2.7-2.8m) tides, which resulted in damage to lowlying restaurants and some lower end lodgings. These WERE NOT RELATED TO EARTHQUAKES |

That is correct. Atmospheric conditions (low pressure / high pressure) created the large waves and if you were not on the beach you wouldn't know about it.
You'll have no problems. |
