Hey there. We've been to Bali many times, but never to Amed. Could anyone please recommend a good place to stay? Looking for a bit o luxury Bali style, tranquil, lush (I don't know if it's lush in Amed) by the beach,child-friendly, good food, beautiful surroundings. Anyone know a place that stands out???
Thank you. Amed info appreciated.

Hi Subby. Forget lush - Ahmed is quite barren compared to most of Bali. There is a lot of accommodation, it depends on your budget, but you sound like you are looking for something like Hidden Dragon right on the beach excellent snorkelling and near to some good restaurants. Or above a quieter beach Blue Moon (not my scene - Good Karma just below on the beach is my choice but budget!) is good and the food there is excellent (beware the pictures on the web which seriously exagerate the size of the pool in which you can do 4 strokes?). Slightly cheaper is Hidden Paradise or Coral Cottages, but still nice.

Try Travelideas for comparisons and traveller feedback.

I loved Amed and had a great stay at Wawa-Wewe, which is right on the beach with a pool and several bungalows. Also has great food and awesome people.

I'm with Goginan on Dancing Dragons, what a beautiful place. It's a boutique hotel (Feng Shui Boutique too!) right on the hill overlooking the sea. Divine rooms with big wetroom/bathrooms and luxurious loungers on your own private terrace. Room 5 was my favourite! THe staff counldn't be more helpful and we had a lovely driver from the hotel who made sure we knew all the required temple etiquette on our visits, making life so much easier. There's a large octagonal conference space there too, more marble than you can shake a stick at and a wonderful restaurant....
