I have a facination with accents.I love to be able to try and guess where a person hails from by listening to them talk.I have often wondered about Nick---a pomme who has lived in USA and then Bali.Lo and behold there he is on video clip today talking.
I definately could hear the American influence there and was wondering if the other part was Geordie or Manchester???
Put me out of my misery when you get a chance please.
Cheers laurs

Hi Laurs,

I am a stinkin' POM from N. London who lived all over the world. Like most people I pick up local terms, phrases and pronounciation after being in a place for a while.

No I'm an Arsenal supporter.

Last week we went to Las Vegas and as we were stepping from the taxi to the hotel a 50 year old black man, the doorman stepped up and started chating with us. "Where you from Sir?" he said. "England." I said. "Manchester United or Liverpool?" he asked. "Arsenal." I said. "Well you say hello to Mr. Owens and Mr Beckman." he said. I told him my friend Chris was from Australia. "Australia! Magpies, that's my team." he said without missing a beat.

This guy had read the sports pages and memerized a little bit of sports info from around the world. A great way to break the ice.
