While leaving Bali last Friday all surfers were hit with a new board tax of 50AU dollars.Nobody was aware of this new extra tax. This left a few travellers short on funds and pissed off ,me included. One surfing family was stung $200AU for all their boards this to me seems like a final money grab on departure.Be aware of this, and excess baggage, they are cracking down on as little as 5kg over!Don't spend all your rupiah before you go home, you may need a part time job before you get there.

Haven't heard about this. Thanks for the heads up. Is this one particular airline or the whole lot?

If its the Indo government its completely in line with their style, no warning, just drop it in your lap.

Is this for boards you brought with you from homw or that you bought in Bali? $50 to get my boards back out is ridiculous.
