We are going to Bali in may and need some advice as to what areas to visit. We want beautiful beaches and want to make this a spa trip. We definitely want to see the cultural side as well as shop and get lots of massages. There will be 3 girls and 1 of us is a really good surfer(competition good) 1 a intermediate and 1 of us doesn't surf at all. We want to stay in somewhat nicer hotels around $100 a night. Any suggestions??? I'm planning on going and booking our hotel rooms as we go. I will have the 1st night booked ahead of time and the other nights I plan on winging it. Will this work here? Thanks!!!!

If you're interested in spas, I'm in the middle of writing my series called "30 days / 30 spa treatments for $300 in Bali." I got massage, slathered and pummeled for an entire month and you can read about it and find some good, not too pricey spas around the island at my blog: http://www.travel-betty.com.

Also, I stayed in Legian at Villa Naga Maya. Less than $100/night and there are only 2 villas on property. About a 5 minute walk to the beach, but total peace and quiet and your own pool. There are good restaurants and surfing opportunities nearby. Although I'm sure you can find better surfing elsewhere. I enjoyed Dreamland.

Have a blast. You won't be at a loss for spas, that's for sure!
