Hi BGreen
I am a nurse working in a Dr's surgery in Australia. We are often asked the travel vacc question by patients who are off travelling. The main immunity that everyone should have and most adults already have are Hep B,Diptheria and Tetnus. If your have not completed your childhood immunisation Schedule it is advisable to have boosters of these shots. Another precaution you should take is against mosquito bites. It is advisable to use a repellant.Other than that use only bottled water do not drink tap water. Some people have typhoid boosters if the plan to travel out of the tourist areas into the more primitive settings. Cheers laurs |
