Hello everyone!

Well I just booked my Rtw Ticket and Ive commited to at least 6 months of travel. I really nervous all of the sudden. Before I couldn't stop talking about it, I will tell all my friends and feel soo excited. I leave in November. I feel like I cant do it now, is this normal. I dont want to feel this way. What should I do? I want to feel the same excitement that I had before I booked the trip and spent 3,000 dollars. Some questions going throught my mind are, what will I do when i'm there? how will I get around, i'm going to be all alone, i'm going to feel lonley. ahahahaha!

Advice please!!

I'm not nearly as experienced as some of the travellers here but from what I've read everything seems to work itself out once you are on the road. You'll find people to hang out with that are travelling solo as well so you'll probably only be as lonely as you want to be. Technology has us so connected these days that you can pop into a internet cafe and get in touch with friends and family back home. Getting around seems to be really easy too, just make sure to be as flexible as you can and open to new ideas and options.
What countries are you heading to? Some people may be able to most more specific information based on where you are going.
Whenever I get nervous about my upcoming RTW trip I try to remember why it is that we decided to go in the first place and just try to let go. Everything always seems to work itself out. Besides if you have everything planned there will be no suprises or exciting adventures. Getting lost is all part of the fun!

I'd say it's normal Nick. Whenever I get on a long-distance plane like that, the kind where I know I'll be leaving a place for months, I get nervous. Especially at the airport, when it seems like it'd be so easy to stay =P. Of course, once it becomes like a drug, the feeling turns into something more like, "gee the airport's close, wonder how many blank pages are in that passport." =P

Nervous is normal. Spend some time with a few phrase books to focus your nervousness. You'll get around fine with some phrases to build off and a map for people to point out directions on ^_^.

I've been traveling alone for 18 months now. You'll survive.

You can't answer a lot of these questions until you get there. Suffice to say, there are probably thousands if not millions of people where you are going who have to get around, eat, etc. You'll figure it out.

The only thing I recommend is to reserve a place to stay at your first destination and have enough cash to get to to that place from the airport. Then take a day or two and figure everything out. Walk around, get used to being away.

Everything will work out.

Yep, it's normal. Within a week, you'll be comfortable - and within a month, coping with life on the road will have become second nature. You won't even think about it - it'll just be your normal life for the time being.

You'll have a blast, man.

No worries man!

Nervous is normal. I've filled up a passport, traveled more than I've worked. I still get that nervous feeling.

You'll be fine, you'll be more than fine, it'll be awesome and you'll have a blast, everything works itself out.

Have a blast!
