I am on a lifelong journey, nothing matters except having a good time. Dont have to worry about anything else at all. I have been on the road almost 3 months now, and I am travelling pretty slowly, only been through about 5 different countries... and I have found it can start to get a little boring without a job.

Because of bad planning I am staying in spain for 3 more weeks before moving on... which is not enough time for a real job

Anyone have advice on how to entertain myself for the next 3 weeks before I go to the next country?

I can go on a drinking binge, but that is only entertaining for maybe a week or so.

Its like Im kind of stranded because of bad planning!

You could always explore more of Spain. After all if you've only been on the road 3 months and already been to 5 countries then you could not have possibly seen all of Spain.

Or are you talking more about nightlife?

That boredom is something we've all dealt with on long trips. Some tricks:

- Give yourself a job, or a task, each day. A guy from Europe taught me that trick - he pointed out that it was the norm for most people to want a bit of structure to the day. The task can can be anything. Learn to make a good paella. Write an article for BootsnAll on ... anything. Study the subjunctive. Head to the coast and learn to surf. Walk the Camino de Santiago. Or better, is there an unanswered question on the boards about Spain? Make it your job to answer it, and do a good job of it. That can take half a day or a full week.

I don't really understand how you are stuck in Spain, though. Are you banned from crossing the border? Even if your tired of Spain, Morocco and Portugal and France are right there, as well as some island nations that sound intriguing. You could be there and back in a flash.

There's some good wine produced in Spain, so perhaps visit some of the local wineries, such as Rioja's. Here's some info:

Rioja
This is the heart of Spain wine country, and the most successful vineyards are located in the Rioja region. The area takes its name from the Rio Oja which is a tributary of the nearby Ebro River. This region, which provides some of the most extensive wine tours Spain has to offer, came to prominence during its trade with the Bordeaux area of France.

And maybe you could make a few bucks working for at one of these places.

Best of luck to you Smile

Brother, how can you be bored in Spain? You've got three weeks. Go walk the final 100 kilometers of the Camino. Enjoy the good, green, beautiful country, visit Ted the Idiot's bones (keep in mind that they are commonly mistaken for the bones of St. James), and meet alluring Basque & Gallego locals and Swedish pilgrims.

This need not be a problem of any sort.

Smile
