can anyone comment on the daily budgets i have worked out, this has to include accomodation and food, am i way off base? if anyone can give me a better brakedown for any of the countries and tell me how much food accomodation and drinking out costs from their experience i would really apreciate any feedback

£17 $30 thailand
£17 $30 indonesia
£25 $45 sydney
£19 $34 argentina
£18 $32 chilie
£19 $34 brazil

Indonesia & Thailand you shld be ok. I'm thinking hubby & I did $30 a day in Indo. for two, but then we stayed at $3-5 accomo.
thailand, we ate in the street in bangkok, 25 US cents for pad thai, etc. rooms were a bit harder to cost down b/c I wanted air con so I think we paid like $10 a night.

i'd say sydeny $45 is gonna be tough when you factor in accomo.& transpo

oh, and the above was late 2002 prices. don't know how much it's changed. Indo is soooo hurtin for tourism, you may get by cheaper.

Argentina you should be okay. Buenos Aires is expensive compared to the rest of the country, though.

Argentina is cheaper than Chile these days. Australia seems too low.
