Alright guys, ive gotten to the point especially after our little village idiot got re elected, of considering dual citizenship. Right now i am thinking about the UK just because of the whole language issue. I would love to move and work in the UK. Is it particularily difficult for an American citizen to do so? Does anybody have any sites i can check out? I am sick and tired of traveling and being generalized into one lump sum with everyone who voted that arrogant dimwit into office, so i believe it is time to test the waters. Ive traveled throughout europe and actually think i like it better for many reasons. Before i was considering getting a TEFL certificate to teach english most likely in Prague but if i could get a job legally i would love to do so. Thanks- Ryan

Ryan, what are your skills? Do you have a degree?

There are quite a few international companies that you might be able to get involved with--we met so many people while we were travelling who were South African but working in the Netherlands, or American and working in London, etc.

It's harder for Americans to legitimately work in other countries cause we have so much job availability in our own, most countries don't want to give away what few jobs they have to us, but still not an impossible feat.

Google it mate.

hello!
Well I'm a Brit myself so just thought i would offer you some portion of my infinite wisdom.. Smile
I met this USA lady here (England), who was working at an employment agency (ironically enough...)
anywho
I got speaking to her about finding a job (as you do, in employment agencies) and she was saying that a problem she found was over here in Britain, USA qualifactions arent really put in high regard
Not in an offencive way of course. just because they don't tend to recognise the system.
(I have weird qualifications, as i wasnt educated in UK, so everyone i meet here is like Internation Baccalaureate-what the hell?!?!? even though is recognised world-wide...apparently)

So if you can't decipher my point out of that (i know, it is hard) be wary of people over here in UK questioning, or even diregarding, your Qualifications!

Also, i suggest you go to Scotland.
For no real particular reason, except it's so much cooler (and A HELL OF A LOT FRIENDLIER)

good luck,!

If you can find work before you come here then you can get a work visa easily and once here you can get an extention quite easily. have a look on the job boards in the u.k.

Don't you mean "colder"? Wink

Something you may find interesting is that you'd probably find as many "anti-American" people in the UK as in France... surprising, eh?

On a related-ish note, have you thought about Australia? I'd MUCH rather live there than here Wink

You know where I found the most Anti-American people?
In Switzerland!
I used to live there, and there would be protests everyday practically... and they used to paint slogans over places like 'Starbucks'.
