Hi..I'm in Norway through the end of May, and after that I'm trying to decide if I should take a flight to Barcelona and hang out in Spain, Italy and Greece for the summer, or fly to Helsinki, and work my way down through Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania...
I'm a piano player and would like to find work along the way, if it comes, great..but...right now I'm a little overwhelmed with the immensity of the planet and my desire to see it all!! AAArrrgh!

Can not help with the piano playing part, since well I can not actually play anything!

As for the travel part what set of countries are calling to you more. Spain, Italy, Greece or Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania?

Look at what you can do in the countries and compile a little list of Pros and Cons.

If that doesn't work, um, flip a coin maybe?

Um, what else... drag out a map of the world, put on a blind fold and place your finger somewhere on the map. Where ever your finger lands that is where you go... of course that could prove somewhat problematic if your finger is pointing to the middle of the Atlantic Ocean....

That could mean you should go on a boat Big Grin a big boat!

um... sorry... tis late and am a little tired. Have fun wherever it is you end up going!

Thanks for your reply, and the reminder of where it was I really wanted to go in the first place...after I sold my car, stored my stuff, and bought my pack last August. I was kind of in the same(somewhat bewildered)space, back in Virginia still, and out for my morning run...thinking to myself-I'm going, but I have no idea where to go first..and BAM!! instantly I received the answer...Marrakesh. I had never thought about visiting there before, in fact...I really didn't know where it was!! But the more I read about it, the more enchanted I became with the pink city. I had plans to go in November, after a gig in Ireland, but ended up taking a job in Vermont for ski season instead. So- I just needed a gentle reminder from a fellow traveler, kindred spirit to listen to what calls you. I just bought 2 incredibly cheap tickets on Ryanair ($13 each) from Oslo to Frankfurt, and Frankfurt to Marrakesh... I'm totally stoked!!

No problems dalaimama. I'm glad that my ramblings last night made sense. I woke up this morning and decided I best check what I wrote, just in case!

Morocco is a great country. Went there late last year and loved it. There are about 130 images in my photo gallery. The header on my site is one of them. Feel free to check them out though I warn you while there are a couple that I think are good there are some that are less than good!

There is also a journal though the Marrakesh entry is just one long entry since I fell behind on the journal. Have a look if you like. If you click on Journal -> Morocco 2006 -> (scroll to the bottom of the page) -> last. That will obviously take you to the last entry for my Morocco trip and is about Marrakesh, or my ramblings about it anyway.

It's a fun place particularly the square at night.

Hope you have a great time.

I say go to the Baltics.. Italy, Spain and Greece are so crazy busy during the summer moths, everything gets more expensive and crowded. I'm sure everywhere is Europe is busy as well, but I personally will never go to Italy in August ever again!
