It's great - It's awesome! It's funny i was just thinking of a post on here the other day asking people why they travel and I was thinking I should've written - for freedom. I'm moving this weekend and realizing all the crap that I own and how I can't wait to be gone w/ only the items I really need instead of everything else. Getting sick of the rat race, stressful work enviorments and getting way to pissed off at various customer service lines - it's def. time to get out and get that freedom. I will def. keep reading your blog!! Good luck!

Another strange thing - my nickname is Buffy and my sister and I are always dreaming of starting an amazing cake store!! how funny!!

too funny! the cake biz has been great to me....but after 10 years i'm definitely ready for a change.

i have enjoyed everyone's blogs! (yours included) we are nervous, excited, and every other emotion as we pour through
tons of info to decide our route....
we will continue posting on the blog as we go through the steps to get ready for our takeoff.

Nice looking site. I just used iWeb to make a site as well www.funkideli.fi but I ended up using a separate blog site (and missing out on the hit counter) because I won't have my mac on the road (and I don't fancy dotmac) so I won't be able to use iWeb to update it.

iWeb is great - gotta love those templates - we both have that lovely mirror effect what a coincidence LOL

yeah MC,
we are total macheads....and after getting the domain, it's way easier for us to use everything mac. we are taking 2 macbook air's with us, not only for pics and blog stuff, but for our 2 kids distance learning. so far every lodging we are looking at has wifi, so they can keep up as needed. have you guys found that to be pretty reliable (meaning wifi is pretty strong)? we are just keeping our fingers crossed on our house as this market is making us craaaaaazzzzzy!
peace,
b

One suggestion would be some sites that list free wifi all over the world:

I'd look first at the awesome Jiwire at http://www.jiwire.com/search-hotspot-locations.htm
Also check out:
- Wifi411: http://www.wifi411.com/search/index.php
- Hotspot haven: http://www.hotspothaven.com/
- Free Wifi Spots: http://www.wififreespot.com/ (see at the bottom of the page for international stuff) and
- WiFinder: http://wifinder.com/

thanks jennifer! great info!
we will mostly be settling in spots for at least 2 weeks to a month or longer and using those spots as a base for day trips and to travel off from. every hotel, gites, guest houses, etc. we are looking at renting has wifi included in the accommodation. so i'm just wondering if you guys found those connections to be pretty reliable. with our kids schooling, i kinda cringe at having to constantly plop them at a possibly busy cafe to do their work if needed. it will just be easier to let them do it at "home" when we can squeeze it in. i know there are some more remote areas where they will just have to take a break from school for a while and get back to it later.
peace,
b

oh, i have no doubt it will Crazy
but we have a pattern of often doing things with our kids and people say "you guys are crazy"! though they secretly confide they wish they could do it as well.
who knows where all we'll go or where we will end up....all we know is that we want to be open to the experience. i'm sure there will be times where it sucks....we have those days anyway. but one thing we have going for us, is our crazy sense of humor. we can laugh at some things that people might throw there hands up and quit. sometimes when nothing goes the way you thought it would.... we just laugh. cuz sometimes you can't change what's happening....BUT you can change your view of it. and thats what we try to do sometimes.
peace,
b

Remote education - that is very cleverSmile
And tell me about it (as they say) with the house. We are leaving in 4 weeks and are still waiting for our flat to be rented. It is making us very nervvvvvvous!
