Holds PhD in Packing
Posted
Has anyone had any trouble going between countries carrying medicine? My main concern is that I have 180 doxcycline pills for malaria that I have bought here in the US and will be taking them with me. They are in the original prescrpition bottles. I am also taking Ciproflaxin and Lunesta for the long plane rides.

For details of my 2007-2008 RTW trip go to Barry Backpacks Around the World.

Never had a problem. Indeed, I've never had anyone ask to see my drugs. Just make sure you have the prescription with you.

Problems with customs? None. Hell, I've traveled with modest quantities of Valium, Ecstasy and other happy, non-traditionally acquired pharmaceuticals with no hassle. Smile

If you are the paranoid type, bring along a perscription...but me thinks you won't need it.

(There is one problem I've had with pills...and that was my GERD drug, garlic, and vitamin B complex stash (all in one bottle) that decomposed into a soft, crumbling mass that resembled dark orange couscous in t he coastal humidity of Andaman Coast Thailand. Next time I pack my pills better.)

Hi there,

If you are worried, you could take a letter from your doctor with you.

Have a nice day, Whistler.

If you can keep a sense of humour and see the funny side of life, you will never be old. SMC.
