concerning extended stays (longer than 90 days) in europe, how have people dealt with the schengen visa. my understanding is that upon arrival your visa begins a rolling clock in which a person (american citizen like me) is given 90 days over a 180 day period in which they are allowed to be within a "schengen"
countries borders. if a person wishes to stay longer than this, how could they go about this (without getting a student or work visa for example.) how have people gotten around this and extended their stays. what sort of penalty applies to a person who overstays their visa? i plan on WWOOFing mostly while im over there so i would like to be able to follow the weather and not be limited to 90 days?
