I remember walking down KSR road in March this year listening to Lisa Gerrard.

....listening to Lisa and walking down the bustling road was a mind blowing experience. So much so i just sat on the side for hours listening to her and watching the various people walk past...

Note: I was not stoned or tripping.....honestly!

Aphex twin and UNKLE remixes are very apt also...

Music is an essential for me on the road.......

A lot of times music will bring me back. There are a couple of albums that I listened to when I lived in Spain-- Jarabe del Palo and Ella Baila Sola-- and whenever I hear it now, it transports me back 7 years.

I always listen to music in the car on the ride back or on the ride to a place because thats when I do the majority of my thinking. It always seems to enhance the mood I'm in. I view it like one big movie segment with a soundtrack.

I like Modest Mouse right as the plane takes off, especially "Float On"--just seems very appropriate. I listen to music constantly, but I have one vivid memory of Aimee Mann on a bus in Costa Rica, and it just made me feel...I don't know how to explain it..very contemplative, and I felt very thankful and blessed as I looked out at the Cental Valley.

Many songs remind me of places I've been too--Bob Marley and Sean John for Costa Rica, and Cannonball by Damien Rice makes me cry in memory of Ireland. I miss it dearly.

I used to think nah, no music.

But there are times when I'm going to want it. Like when I spend hours hiking the great wall.

Think about the soundtrack to that! I'm thinking Pink Floyd.

Whenever I hear Bruce Springteens Nebraska, I am taken back to riding the train through the Northern California farmland watching the sunrise over the southern cascades, or northern sierras, whatever mountains those are.
