How about 'Apache Rose Peacock' by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I'm sure it's not to everyone's liking but I think it captures some things about NOLA very well.

RHCP is one of those bands whose songs and sound typify a single destination. Their music captures the essence of living and breathing in Los Angeles and Southern California--taking a page from the Doors, for sure. Springsteen has the same connection with Jersey, as does Simon & Garfunkel and the Ramones with NYC.
