What a dump....

Bow

(.....mmmmmm..... pie....)

*hands clapping* to your organizational skills! It took me three goes to find a book for my next trip. (Nope, not in the shelves.....not in the backpack, .... not on the office floor.....still not on the office floor....still also not on the shelves.....hmmmmm..... Censored .... oh here it is.....on the office floor!) I'd take a snappy right now but I'm on the telephone currently with someone who's not answering on their end, though I'm sure they'll be a lovely host.

My main 'library' is in the attic of my parents house. Couldn't possibly take 700 or so books with me. Before they all got put into bags, I could probably find any given book within 10 seconds. That's the kind of ordering freak I am when it comes to books.
The only reason ever to settle down somewhere would be to have my library again (including all the books that start stacking up here now...will probably have to send another stash to my parents anytime soon...).

We moved in a year ago. All our books (and computer parts anno 1993) live in the boxroom.

We need more shelves!

Trust me, you don't want me to do this.

...and Joe, you've given me the strong urge to go over there and clean your situation.

Corvinus, I am impressed!

Most of my books are divided into three places- my parents place, the book shelf in the hall and in our storage room. As our little one is learning to walk, the books have become her favorite thing to through on the ground. So the storage room is getting more and more full.

Wow! Look at all those books! What smart booties!!! I love books, but I have too many. I am obsessed with the library. I have about 20 books checked out right now. If only I bought more books, they'd probably collapse on me in my sleep. What a way to go.

Here are some of my books -

And just a few more -

Some others -

One day I will have a fantastic library room, with a rolling ladder, a hidden secret passage accessed by a plaster head, and a silver tray holding cut crystal glasses and a brandy filled decanter. For now, my little book pals most be content on their Ikea shelving units, loosely organized by my whim.

Here's my travel/adventure book collection...

Climbing books on top, backpacker magazine and maps in the red things. Travel journals on the bottom shelf.

The rest of my book collection (not shown) are mostly art or jewelry related books.

Wow, a lot of familiar titles in there!

That's the guidebook section, most of the travel essay type books have reloacted to another shelf.
