The Hedonism Handbook, while not specifically about travel, is an excellent treatise on a good way to go about living this life we are given. Work is important, but not everything in life. Take time for leisure, fun, and pleasure in life. The book talks about great hedonists in history, how to tell if you're in need of a hedonistic intervention, and ways to ensure you are maximizing fun and leisure in your life. A favorite quote, and my new signature line: "Life goes by very quickly, and the wise soul doesn't wear itchy pajamas."

If hedonism is your thing, you ought to check out the old school. Omar Khayyam can whoop anyone's hedonistic ass.

"You know, my Friends, with what a brave Carouse
I made a Second Marriage in my house;
Divorced old barren Reason from my Bed
And took the Daughter of the Vine to Spouse. "

or

"The Grape that can with Logic absolute
The Two-and-Seventy jarring Sects confute:
The sovereign Alchemist that in a trice
Life's leaden metal into Gold transmute."

And I agree the Capt has good taste...Smile
