Sure BootsNAll is all about hitting the road with a backpack and your pair of feet. But let's say you decided to hop on that classic '69 Harley "Chopper" instead. As the wind rushes by your face, what are the top ten road songs you'd like to hear blasting in your ears?

In no particular order:

- Born to be Wild (Steppenwolf)
- Highway Star (Deep Purple) <<My pick for the greatest!
- Born to Run (Bruce Springsteen)
- Take it Easy (Eagles)
- Highway to Hell (AC/DC)
- Slow Ride (Foghat)
- Truckin' (Grateful Dead)
- Running on Empty (Jackson Browne)
- Immigrant Song (Led Zeppelin)
- Runnin' Down a Dream (Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers)

+++++++++++++++

A world of adventure...

Hey now, you just have to be patient. A good mix takes some thought.... Smile

My road trip mix includes the following:

* Broken Social Scene - 7/4 (Shoreline)

* Led Zeppelin - Ramble On

* About 16 songs from Calexico, including Minas de Cobre, Corona, Across the Wire, El Picador and Not Even Stevie Nicks...among many many others. Does that count as one?

* Bright Eyes - Another Travelin' Song

* Incubus - Wish You Were Here

* Dixie Chicks - The Long Way Around

* Gogol Bordello - Wonderlust King

* George Michael and Aretha Franklin - I Knew You Were Waiting for Me (If George Michael were waiting for me, I would drive faster than fast.)

* Dead Milkmen - Bitchin' Camaro

* Jamiroquai - A tie between Canned Heat and Black Capricorn Day -- both are awesome to listen to in the car at a faster than legal speed.

Alternates, just in case one of the above mentioned songs needs a time out or has a particularly nasty scratch:

* Pearl Jam - Rearview Mirror
* Louis Prima - There'll Be No Next Time (Not really a traveling song, per se, but it always makes me laugh.)
* Stereo Total - National 7
* Cake - The Distance
* Jeff Buckley - Last Goodbye

Well, all the Toadies songs are pretty dark but they do make excellent songs to blast while driving fast, especially if that drive happens to be across West Texas.
