OK, I admit it: I have always really liked his writing. "Beirut to Jerusalem" remains a favorite, but this new book is really a fine pice of work. He sees big truths clearly, and no one explains the downside of globalization like TF.

To quote Paul Romer "a crisis is a terrible thing to waste." And Friedman doesn't.

"I refuse to settle for a world that gets smaller in the wrong sense, in the sense that there are fewer places Americans can go without a second thought and fewer and fewer foreigners feeling comfortable about coming to America."

I agree, it's excellent As a teacher I liked his quote about what he says to his daughters. His mother said, "Eat your dinner, children are starving in China." Friedman says, "Do your homework, there are children in China who want your jobs."

Why would you have to 'admit it?'

Is liking his writing a kind of deviance?
