Divorce Your Car: Ending the Love Affair with the Automobile, by Katie Alvord

Has anyone read it? It's really interesting, and I recommend picking it up. Anyway, the main reason I'm bringing it up is because it keeps mentioning Eugene! Apparently you guys have a "Centre for Appropriate Transportation"?

Anyway, that's all. ;-)

Cheers,

They're very popular around here, and do lots of programs with kids, advocating different types of transport, etc. You'll often see people on the street riding their - and I think I have the name right - 'conference bikes', a circular-framed bike that has 4-5 people sitting in a circle, facing in, with one person seeing forward to navigate. Here's the CAT's website:

Pretty sweet, huh?
