In addition to the paperback books that I bring along for my amusement, I also pack a book or two for other people's amusement.

I looked around on my bookshelf, and saw that I had an extra copy of "Three Men In A Boat", (a wry classic) on paperback.

Inside it, I wrote: "from one backpacker to another; when you are finished with this book please pass it along" in permanent ink.

Some fellow traveler who is starving for something to read now will not be forced to read Danielle Steele for a change.

I may pack a few others to give away too.
Leave them at guesthouses along the way.

Kind of the opposite of shoplifting.

Great idea Joe!

Because of my limted space, I need to swap books all the time. I have a few in England and have just caught up with a mate in Switzerland, so when I head back his way in a couple of weeks we can swap.

I always seem to leave books behind when I leave a place I've been living for a while...
