I noticed that some of you were reading or about to read this book. I'm curious as to what you thought.

I have to admit, in the beginning I had NO interest in any of it. Two celeberties travelling around the world on motorcycles wasn't very appealing.

I caught a few of the episodes on TV and found them pretty entertaining so I ventured out and bought the book. It's actually not bad. It was interesting what they went through.

I agree - I also found it quite boring in the beginning what with their celebrity status and all the talk about how much they loved motorcycles etc... Not the best travel book I've read, but they did have some interesting and unique experiences. I wouldn't really recommend it to others unless they were motorbike enthusiasts or planning an adventurous trip in the same area...

Caught a few episodes on TV that tweaked my interest. Being a "motorcycle enthusiast" with a love for the great outdoors and adversity I found their adventures through Mongolia to be especially appealing/challenging. Have to admit to wondering how one would go about getting something like that put together. I wasn't aware there was some celebrity status associated, and still don't know who they are. Just a couple of whacky bikers in my mind.

It was an interesting and easy read. Nothing of literary merit, but that's ok - these guys are actors not authors. I wasn't expecting Pulitzer material.

Overall, I thought they were kinda ... whiners. Charlie doesn't like to camp because he's afraid of spiders. Ewan is worried about money. WTF! He's got more money than God.

However, I really did enjoy the parts of the book that covered Kazakstan and Mongolia. I guess the most interesting part of the book is learning what it's like to travel with a film crew!
