I am seriously considering purchasing this camera for a trip around the world but have pratical related questions for someone who has used this camera while travelling.
Please let me know if I can ask you some detailed questions regarding your use of and happiness with this camera. Thanks |

I have a friend that has the first version of the Mavica CD - the model that burns to mini CDRs.
He loves it, but finds that the buffer time is too slow - it takes to long to burn to the disk. Also, mini CDRs are very expensive compared with standard CDRs, so there is a price issue there. The advantage is that the images are more permanently stored than other types of digital camera. CDs are much more stable than memory cards or physical drives (floppy, microdrive etc) so are much more suited to the abuses of travel. And regarding the other post and internet cafes - they are much more likely to allow you to insert a CD (or will do it for you) than installing software to download pics via USB, read memory cards or the like. Personally I prefer to take the laptop and photoshop things a little - but then I have to take it for work anyway... -- Rob http://www.robstravels.com |
