Help bootnsallers. We're currently near the beginning of our RTW and have been starting to work with flickr. It was taking so long to download our photos that we ended up moving them to a disc and have repeatedly tried to upload to flickr but it takes so long that we can only do about 10 photos per hour. Any tips on what we might be doing wrong, how to do it better, etc. We want to get our latest photos loaded for people to see but have been a bit frustrated so far.
Thanks!

It depends where you are and what sort of connection you are using (also what size the photos are). I found some pleaces I could upload pics at a rate of about 60-70 an hour (6MP camera - about 1MB per pic) and others (especially Asia and South America) I was lucky to get up 6 an hour. When it came to the slow uploads I litterally gave up on it, burnt to CD (2 copies) and/or purchased a new memory card. In the end teh amount I would have spent on internet time (both in a financial and time way) I was better off buying another card.

I then uploadeded again when in a place with a better connection (and/or free net access).

Alternatively you can reduce your photo size to make it easier and quicker to upload. Burn the originals to disk so you still have them (send one home and keep one) and then get someone at home to help you out by uploading there or just wait to upload the original quality ones till when you get home. If you have someone at home who can help you, they can use Flickr Uploader so they dont have to be at a PC all the time.

Hope some of that helps.
