Since reading the advice on bootsnall and setting up my own blg before i leave for my trip in January, I have also set up a free flickr a/c. i have been really pleased with how easy the site is to use (as a complete technophobe) and I am heen to use it to back up my photos on the road.

ideally tho i would like to be able to upload the photos and have someone back home access them and burn them to a disk for me and/or order disks and prints to be sent back home for when i return.

however, living in the UK flick doesn't offer those services to order print online or on disk.

have any other uk residents managed to find a way round this problem?

also am i right in thinking someone at home will be able to download my photos to disk for me?
thanks for your help.

If you have a full 'paid' account you can setup your account so that anyone can download your photos, or limit it to specific people so if there's someone back in the UK who will do that they can burn them to CD for you. The free account is somewhat limited, and for the amount it costs get the paid account as its so much better.

The best option I think would be to give somebody back in the UK you trust access to your flickr login details and have them use flickrbackup

http://sunkencity.org/flickrbackup/

They can then download your photos in bulk and burn them to cd. If you want prints for others use a service like photobox in the uk and have them print and deliver the photos.

Or, just upload your photos. Tell your friends where to find them and worry about the downloading and burning when you get home Smile
