So I want to be able to post pictures to my blog and I am planning on using flickr to host my photos. What I would like to find is a stand-alone program that doesn't require an installer on a internet cafe computer and can convert files to a smaller size for easy and fast uploading.

I would hopefully storing this program on a memory stick or the usb memory cards, or if it is small enough just downloading it as needed and just running.

I know that flickr converts the sizes for me, but I dont know how fast the connections are and it doesnt make sense to upload full size images. Does anyone know of an easy way to reduce file size before uploading without installation?

some cameras will actually do this for you, check the settings/manual of your camera - you never know.

Now there is a cute little program someone showed me (might have posted here) but for the life of me I can't find the link/email/whatever - for I know I could have dreamed it up.

I found the perfect program. This program requires no installation and will reduce the size of images or batches of images to a number of specifications. It is super easy to use and pretty fast. The image reduction is done very nicely as well.

I am going to be taking all of my photos in full size and sending home the CD's when I fill up the cards. For posting to my blog though, this will be perfect as I can reduce the size before uploading and saving time at slow internet cafes.

Picture Tray is everything you want, and for free.

The important aspect is that you can download it as a self contained program, so even on a machine that might not allow you to install programs it will still let you intall this as there's only one file, which you can delete when your finished with it. Sorted.
