Still looking for Carmen Sandiego

I have an opportunity to sell some photos I took in Morocco to some co-workers but I haven't the slightest idea of what to charge. I mean, i'm not a professional or free lance photographer so none of the pics I took were with any serious equipment. Just my Nikon Coolpix.

The person has frames but just wants the photos blown up so it also won't take much labor on my part. The person who is interested knows I want to make money off of it and has no problem paying for it.

What kind of percentage should I increase the price of blowing the photos up?

Well, I guess it all depends on how much you like these guys.

If they're good friends of yours maybe just do it for them at cost? You'll sure earn some browny points!

Otherwise,it really depends what you think they'll pay and how good your pictures are.

I don't really think anyone can answer this for you. Just work out how much time it will take you and charge them whatever you think your time is worth plus however much you think the photos are worth plus the cost of blowing the pics up.

Its a co-worker that WANTS to pay for it. She really wants to and doesn't want it for free. She does her own business on the side and appreciates getting paid for what you do. I don't wanna rip anyone off but I wanna make a little money back just because people are willing.

I'll sell it to my own mother!

haha

This is a nifty site - probably not much help to you Joey - to calculate fees for your photographs. Personally, I would charge your co-worker based on the size of the print: 5 x 7: I would charge 5 times and for 8 x 10's 4 times. That would include matting.

Pricing goes across the board, but at least I would cover my costs, including time spent. I do suggest, however, that if you charge for them, spend a little and have them printed professinally. The last thing you want is to take your co-worker's money and have a home-printed photograph fade to pastels after six months.

Also, if you feel the pictures are that good, sign and copyright the back (use acid-free ink).
