Hi. Just got my Velbon tripod, feels really unsturdy and flimsy but very ligth. I have been tryin to find a quick release to put on the ballhead that came with it, but there does not seem to been anything like that. Am I really meant to fasten the camera by screwing it on and off??? That will not do, I am thinking I am missing something here? Please help. Can not go on 1 mnth travel with that solution.

go to a local camera store. You should be able to buy a small piece which you can screw onto your camera and the tripod that will enable you to snap it on and off quickly. I would just bring in the tripod and the camera and let them know what you need.

If you also have a video camera, get a second shoe for the tripod while you are at it.
