I'm never happy with my photos when I return from a trip, although I think I'm a decent photographer. But when I look at them several months later, I think they're great. Is it just me?

Heh, heh, welcome to the club Carrie. Yep, there are photo days when I don't like any of my shots, when I knit-pick all the flaws that I can find. And, it often happens that the following day, I decide that I really like some of the shots. It can even happen the other way around. Months later, it is not unusual for me to change my mind again.

I'd love to see some of your pics. Show us!

Hmm, the shots always turn out different than I had them in my mind's eye. There's this beautiful sunset on the beach--and it turns out to be blurred. Or that guy strikes a really cool pose--moments after I press the shutter button.

At least with a digital camera it's possible to take more than one shot. And conversely, some that I hadn't expected to be any good turn out well.

But yeah, I thought I'd done much better in Japan than it turns out to be. I'll just have to go back and do it all again

I just cant get over all the great shots you miss on the road. I saw the best stuff from the bus window, but there is nothing you can do about that.

As far as going back again, there are SO many new places I have to go before I can start doing repeats...it may take a while
