Hi All,

My husband and I will be travelling from Cardiff to London, then to London to Paris, then from Paris to Marseilles.

We are going to be travelling by train and will be starting on July 31 and coming back on August 7th.

Sun Jul 30 - Cardiff to London, London to Paris
Mon Jul 31 - Paris
Tue Aug 1 - Paris
Wed Aug 2 - Paris
Thu Aug 3 - Paris to Marseille
Fri Aug 4 - Cassis
Sat Aug 5 - Cassis
Sun Aug 6 - Cassis
Mon Aug 7 - Marseille to Paris, Paris to London
Tue Aug 8 - London
Wed Aug 9 - London to Calgary

We are going to spend some time in Cassis, and would like some opinions on these hotels. Cassis is going to be our splurge after staying in a hostel in Paris.

And i was also wondering if we should buy the train tickets ahead of time?

We are interested in spending more time in Paris and the south of France, as we have family in Wales and will be more likely to visit London the next time around.

Buying UK train tickets in advance on this side of the pond is annoyingly difficult.

If you are just getting a flight connection in London, I would suggest taking the Flightlink bus from Cardiff to Heathrow (or Gatwick), as it is a *lot* cheaper than the train and not too shabby at all. They sell tickets by mail and are not afraid of mailing them overseas.
