I am doing the Trans-siberian in January 2001 and by myself. Don't know what it is like to travel as a female alone in Russia, but its going to be an adventure. Are you travelling alone?
I have found that www.trans-siberian.co.uk is useful and there is much more information out there for the taking. If you are in London or nearby - bridge over the world and imaginative traveller can provide you with information packs on what to take and what not too. Try www.bridge-the-world.co.uk. They specialise in this trip and are really helpful with visas and more. Also the best book available and recommended by heaps inc. Lonely Planet is the Trans Siberian Handbook - available on Amazon. Really fantastic for tips and historical points. Enjoy your trip! |
